automation ancien gate
This ancien fencing in wrought iron with cast iron poles and a wide entrance gate has once more become the calling card of a beautiful patrician residence located in a protecte area for purposes of cultural heritage in Flemisch Brabant. Advanced corrosion of the metalwork and water seepage in the underlying brick walls made the entrance look unattractive and the gate could no longer open nor close. For this reason a global approach was chosen: complete restoration of the original fences and gate in the workshop after disassembly, with maximum preservation of original material. In the meantime on the premises, the underlying brickwork was rebuilt. Finally the gate was provided with underground automation with minimal visual impact on the fence, often a necessity in an area that is protect for reasons of cultural heritage, or as being part of a protected property.
