Automation of old gate
For some time now, this fence with cast iron posts and wide entrance gate has once again been the calling card of a beautiful patrician house located in a protected village site in Flemish Brabant. Advanced rusting of the metalwork and water seepage into the underlying walls made the whole thing dilapidated and the gate could no longer open or close. For this reason, a global approach was chosen: complete restoration of old fencing and gate in the studio after disassembly, with maximum preservation of original material. Meanwhile, the underlying masonry was being rebuilt. Finally, the gate was fitted with underground automation with minimal visual impact on the fencing, often a necessity in a protected village or country scene or still attached to listed properties.
