Project Manager – Restoration of historic metalwork (heritage)

Your role

As a Project Manager, you take on broad responsibilities: you are in the driver’s seat from quotation to project execution.

You are the client’s main point of contact and the driving force behind the timely delivery of the project, the monitoring of the internal budget, and the financial close-out.

Your profile

You are a versatile hands-on professional with a technical interest, a strong sense of responsibility and a genuine eagerness to learn. Someone who enjoys switching between client, office and workshop — and who gains energy from teamwork.

  • Technical Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent through experience
  • Passion for heritage and restoration
  • Structured and detail-oriented
  • Experience in project management in (metal) construction is a strong plus
  • You can easily consult and interpret your project plans in 2D or 3D; for drafting work you can always rely on our engineering/design office
  • Highly communicative, driven and proactive
  • Knowledge of Dutch and/or French
  • Preferably living in the (wider) region
  • In possession of a category B driving licence + strong PC skills (MS Office / drawing software is a plus)
  • For candidates with strong analytical and numerical skills, we can offer a tailored set of responsibilities

We offer

  • Attractive salary package with extra-legal benefits: meal vouchers €8, eco-vouchers, laptop, phone, for candidates with relevant experience, a company car is included.
  • Full-time position (40 h/week) with 12 additional holidays
  • Work on exceptional heritage projects across Belgium
  • A varied role with visible impact
  • A passionate, multidisciplinary team
  • Continuous learning in a specialised and growing company

A day in the life of a Project Manager

Altnova is a respected restoration specialist, combining both office work (engineering) and an in-house workshop. This means you work daily alongside skilled craftspeople who restore historic wrought iron and cast iron. You learn from their craftsmanship, and they actively contribute to your technical solutions. Projects here are built through dialogue.

You are not detached from execution — you are right in the middle of the process. Ideas are tested against experience, and plans become sharper through hands-on knowledge. This direct interaction ensures that you don’t just manage projects, but truly understand them.

Moreover, you will work on historic sites and valuable heritage. Every project contributes to the preservation and renewed appreciation of unique buildings and locations.

We strongly believe in diversity of background and expertise. Whether you come from architecture, engineering, technical drafting, or another technical field: your strengths will have room to grow here. We complement each other and build better projects together.

The interaction between office and workshop, between technical analysis and craftsmanship, between different backgrounds and perspectives — that is what makes this role unique.
