Project Manager – Restoration of historic metalwork (heritage)

Your role

As Project Manager, you manage the full lifecycle of restoration projects involving historic metalwork, from decorative cast-iron balconies to complex steel roof trusses and load-bearing heritage structures.

You are responsible from first client contact and quotation through to execution and delivery, acting as the central link between clients, workshop, site teams, subcontractors and engineering. You combine technical insight, organisational skills and commercial awareness, ensuring high-quality execution in line with heritage standards.

Your responsibilities

  • Analyse price requests, carry out site visits and prepare quotations
  • Propose technical and budget-optimised solutions and defend them commercially
  • Translate client requirements into a clear execution strategy
  • Coordinate workshop, site teams, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Plan and monitor project progress, budget and deadlines
  • Interpret technical drawings (2D/3D) in collaboration with our engineering team
  • Ensure quality, safety and compliance with restoration principles
  • Remain the main point of contact for the client throughout the project

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong interest in heritage and restoration
  • Structured, analytical and solution-oriented
  • Experience in project management in (metal) construction is a major asset
  • Communicative, commercially aware and technically curious
  • Dutch and/or French required; English is a plus
  • Driving licence B
  • Proficient PC user (MS Office; drawing/planning software is a plus)

YOUR Profile

  • Technical bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent through experience
  • Passion for heritage
  • Structured and accurate, analytically & arithmetically strong
  • Experience in project management in (metal) construction is a major plus
  • You are very communicative, driven, and enterprising
  • Knowledge of Dutch and/or French
  • Preferably living in the (wider) region
  • Possess a driving license B + smooth PC knowledge (MS-Office/drawing software is a plus)
