On large sites, we restore and strengthen steel lattice roof trusses and historic steel frame structures, often riveted or bolted. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a:
Junior / experienced welder – structural & riveted historic steelwork
Your role
As a junior welder, you will work on the restoration and strengthening of historic steel structures. You will be supervised by experienced colleagues and have the opportunity to further develop your technical skills, both on site and in the workshop.
Your responsibilities
- Perform welding work on steel trusses, trusses and metal joinery
- Preparation of pieces (fitting, bonding, grinding)
- Reading and understanding technical plans and detail drawings (with guidance)
- Participate in assembly and disassembly on site
- Step-by-step learning of traditional fastening techniques, including riveting (pneumatic and hydraulic)
Your profile
- Training in welding, metal construction or mechanical training (e.g. BSO, TSO, VDAB, Syntra)
- First experience with semiautomatic (MIG/MAG); electrode or TIG is a plus
- Interest in heritage, restoration and traditional craftsmanship
- Eager to work in yards
- Eager to learn, accurate and motivated
- Basic safety knowledge (or willing to learn it)
- You speak NL, FR or EN or are willing to learn one of those languages
- Driving license B
